Day 22: Favorite book you own

My favorite book that I own has to be this little beauty:

I know, the title is hard to read, but it is called "The Art and Science of Nursing". It is a second edition nursing textbook from 1941. I picked this fun little number up from the DI for a whopping $1. There are hand written notes throughout the whole book from one Eva Lee Nippell, who I'm assuming was the owner at one time.

It contains such nuggets of wisdom as illustrated above, "Caring for the patient with nausea," and an entire section on answering a patient's call. It also teaches the nurse where to position herself when the doctor is examining particular sections of the patient.

Anyway, it's rather entertaining and a fun little piece of history to own.
